Evergreen Valley College Alumni Poster

This is a poster that I did for an alumni art exhibition that is going to be held at Evergreen Valley College in San Jose. It will run from February 1 to February 24 of this year. When coming up with the idea for the poster I kept in mind the word "RETURN" so that's why you see the sideways eight as a symbol of returning back from where you started.

La Cultura Cura Art Donation

This was a piece that I created and donated for a fundraiser to help La Cultura Cura Organization in San Jose. The fundraiser was held in order to raise funds for the Calpulli Tonalehqueh who hold one of the largest Mexica New Year Celebrations.

The piece incorporates acrylic paint and dried up cactus.

Regenerative Medicine

The whole idea behind this project was to promote Regenerative Medicine, which is a new and interesting field of medicine in which cells are reprogrammed and implanted into the affected area and it creates new healthy tissue to heal the damaged organ.

Its a series of 6 posters total, they are 13''x19'' and they incorporate a mix media, they are made up of paper and acrylic paint...

In this project I wanted to promote an online company called Chegg. This company is unique because it rents out academic books cheaper than it would be to buy them new. My concept behind the promotion campaign was to put it in the vernacular of students so the posters are made to look like the pin up flyers you would see posted around campus with the cut telephone numbered strips. The booklet would look like a school three hole binder with lined paper.

Visual Tether: The Journey of Light

This is a book that I did that deals with sunlight and the journey it takes to reach our Earth, which then hits objects that is then reflected into our eyes to tell use what we are seeing in front of us. FYI. These are just a few of the spreads from the book.

Day of the Dead Corona Beer

This was a promotional beer called Celebration for Corona Beer. It would be released around the Mexican holiday known as the Day of the Dead, which is celebrated on Nov. 2. The holiday focuses on gatherings of family and friends to pray for and remember friends and family members who have died. The art was done by my lovely roommate Elba Raquel who graduated from the Academy of Art University as an Illustartor in 2008.

212 degrees

This was a hypothetical body care system developed for local firefighters to fun raise money for their fire stations. It also included a display to house the products. The name 212 degrees was a concept developed from the fact that water boils at 212 F degrees.

Everlast

Everlast has been around for a while now so I explored in giving the identity a new facelift. I wanted to keep the essence of what has made the logo and brand so successful but at the same time updating the logo for a new generation.

Taxi Company for the future

In this exploration I developed an identity for an existing taxi cab company called Luxor. However in developing my concept I imagined a world that has been ravaged by global warming and all the cites have been flooded. Luxor being a cunning business has boat taxis to transport people to and and from their destination to wherever they want to go.

Pterra Insect Covention

This was an idea for a convention that would focus on insects and how they benefit our world. The concept behind this convention was inspired by how small insects are compared to us, so I used the micro-macro aesthetic to drive home the fact that even though insects are small they play a large role in the circle of life.

Merrill Lynch

Ariston Olive Oil

This was a label design for bottled olive oil. The concept was inspired by the olive tree itself which has big strong roots that extend far into the ground.

Identity for LEGO

For this exploration I created a logo for LEGO that just uses the Icon of a LEGO block by itself because LEGO is a part of our popular culture and a word is not needed next to the icon to tell us that its a LEGO. Such as Nike does when they just use the swoosh and don't use any word mark to accompany the Icon.

I also created a business card system that can be used in the company to distinguish hierarchy amongst the employees.

Roca Construction

This was created for a construction company named Roca which stands for rock on Spanish. The concept behind this logo was inspired by the block letters that construction workers use to mark certain areas of importance.

For this exploration I kept the essence of what Chipotle already has and added a bit of more flavor to it. In doing so I made the chipotle pepper resemble the country of Mexico, and I used a mature color pallet.

Identity for Hand Communication for the Mute

This was done for a fictional product that helps people who are mute but have the ability to communicate through sign language. The fictional device is called Palmaris and its suppose to speak out the words that a mute person is cmmunicating when moving his or her hands.

This is a magazine spread done to shine a light on the growing use of narcotics, specifically Crystal Meth. The snakes are used as a representation of what crystal meth does to the user which is to suck you dry of the life that you have. The snakes are hand drawn and then photomontaged together with several other images to give the reader a deteriorative feel.
